France leads the FEI Nations Cup team competition and Germany’s Josephine Schnaufer-Vökel leads the individual 4* after dressage at Haras Le Pin

Under a beautiful blue sky at the National Stud of Haras Le Pin in Normandy, the final pairs of riders completed dressage in the FEI Nations Cup competition on Friday

The French team have maintained their lead but The Netherlands is just three points behind heading into Saturday’s show jumping phase. The New Zealand team of Hollie Swain on Solo, Jonelle Price on Grappa Nera, Tayla Mason on Centennial and Tim Price on Happy Boy is now in third place.

In preparation for the FEI Eventing European Championships in September, the French team held its place on the dressage phase thanks to the good performances of Gwendolen Fer (Romantic Love) and Sébastien Cavaillon (Sarah d'Argouges) who hope to follow up previous wins on home soil by the French side

In the individual competition, Josephine Schnaufer-Vökel leads on board the very talented mare Pasadena 217 on a score of 24.4 while Tim Price, fresh from Tokyo 2020, climbed on the provisional podium riding Happy Boy, a horse that was the 7-Year-Old FEI World Young Horse Champion at Le Lion d'Angers in 2019

Josephine and Tim are also battling it out on top of the CCI2*-L

Camille Lejeune (FRA) and her stallion Good Size des Quatre Chênes scored the best French performance for third place while France’s Gwendolen Fer also had a good start in 4th and 5th places on Romantic Love and Traumprinz respectively

The show jumping starts on Saturday at 3:30pm

In the other classes...

In the CCI3*-L Région Normandie Trophy, the top 5 at the end of the dressage is Franco-Swiss, led by Ugo Provasi (FRA) and Quasary du Hans followed by Camille Guyot (SUI) on Vinecheska Jeclai’s with less than one point. Something quite rare, three riders are tied: Tokyo bronze medallist Christopher Six, Sébastien Muller (SUI) and Véronique Real.

The gaps are even smaller in the CCI3*-S Argentan Intercom Trophy, with less than a point difference in the leader tonight, Maxime Livio on Elvis de Hus Z, and his six chasers, including last year’s winner Stéphane Landois (FRA) and Shaman Dumontceau.

Already leading the CCIO4*-S, Josephine Schnaufer-Vökel (GER) is also leading the CCI2*-L Haras National du Pin Trophy, one hundredth behind Tim Price (NZL), followed by Stanislas de Zuchowicz (FRA).

Finally, in the CCI2*-S Ustica Trophy, the competitors competed in their second test this evening, the show jumping. Thanks to a clear round, Mathieu Chombart (FRA) keeps his first place riding Big Boss Melo. The leading trio remains unchanged.
