New dates for CHIO Aachen 2021

The World Equestrian Festival, CHIO Aachen 2021, originally scheduled for June, has now changed its dates to 10th-19th September.

The event will now fall after the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games and the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials (1st – 5th September) but the Eventing competition at Aachen, which will run on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th September 2021, will clash with Blenheim Palace International (16th – 19th September)

“Everyone is extremely looking forward to the CHIO Aachen 2021, whereby health and safety are of course priority number one,” commented Frank Kemperman, Chairman of the Managing Board of the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein e.V. (ALRV), organisers of the event.

In view of that, the organisers proposed an alternative date in the late summer which has now been approved by the FEI and it is expected that ticket sales will begin in mid-June when regulations regarding spectator capacities will be known as, although the ‘sports-related aspects of the event are crystal clear, the framework conditions are currently uncertain’

“The CHIO Aachen 2021 is going to be a top show, just like we are accustomed to with all five disciplines and the best horses and riders,” explains Kemperman

Tickets already purchased for the CHIO Aachen 2021 can be exchanged for tickets for the CHIO Aachen 2022. Those who don’t want to have their tickets transferred to 2022, can have their money reimbursed or donate the sum.
