Dates for 2019 FEI European Eventing Championships set

In Strzegom TGL Shareholder Michael Spethmann und Event Director Julia Otto received the FEI flag as a symbol for the upcoming European Championships in Luhmühlen

With the 2017 FEI European Eventing Championships in Strzegom now almost a distant memory, the date for the FEI European Eventing Championships in Luhmühlen has been set as 28 August – 1 September 2019

“It’s a gorgeous time of the year to host the Europeans in Luhmühlen as the Heather is in bloom in late August and will turn the landscape purple and green. Hopefully the weather will play along, too” says Luhmühlen’s Event Director Julia Otto.

Course designer Mike Etherington-Smith has designed many major Championships but Luhmühlen 2019 will be just his second Senior European Eventing Championships since Blenheim (GBR) 2005.

“It is a great privilege to be asked to design the 2019 Europeans and I am very honoured and excited by the prospect. Julia Otto and I have already started discussing what we'd like to do and have some new ideas up our sleeves. Our plans for next year will be geared towards 2019 without hopefully giving too much away and having been awarded the championships some of the plans for 2018 will now be put on ice for twelve months. Luhmühlen is a great event with a huge history of providing terrific championships and I very much hope to be able to continue this tradition with the superb team there”
