We have been keeping an eye on each country’s nominations in the lead up to the 2025 CHIO Aachen World Equestrian Festival, but now we can take a full look at just who is competing with the formal publication of entries.
While CHIO Aachen gets underway today (Friday 27th June) with the Vaulting, we have a whole week of anticipation before the Eventing starts. Following the first horse inspection on Thursday, the action starts with dressage for the newly named UBS Cup CCIO4*-S on Friday, followed by the showjumping in the Main Arena on the same evening.
Cross country is on Saturday, with each rider finishing in the Main Arena before we know who will be crowned this year’s team and individual winners at Aachen.
Eight teams are taking part – Australia, France, Great Britain, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, Switzerland and the USA with individual entries from several of these countries plus Belgium (Karin Donckers and Lara De Liedekerke Meier), Canada (Jessica Phoenix), Japan (Ryuzo Kitajima) and Sweden (Frida Andersen).
The Australian team of Sammi Birch riding Finduss FPB, Andrew Cooper riding Sharvalley Thunder, Kevin McNab riding Faro IMP and Shane Rose riding Easy Turn, with Stuart Tinney heading up the Australian team as Chef d’Equipe, have been joined on the entry list by Andrew Hoy riding Gulliver Des Lones having some fun in the very popular evening Jump 'N Drive.
We’ll be bringing you daily reports during the eventing next week at CHIO Aachen so stay tuned for an exciting few days coming up at the venue that will host the FEI World Championships in 2026.
