Organisers say that nations from across the world have declared interest in sending competitors to the inaugural FEI World Eventing Championship Under 25 at Millstreet in Co Cork, Ireland, from July 23rd -26th 2026.

"We're very excited and honoured to be organising the first world championship for riders aged up to 25," said Event Director Thomas Duggan, of the first eventing championship on Irish soil since the Duggan family ran the FEI Young Rider and Junior European Eventing Championship in 2017 at Millstreet.

Expressions of interest were called for the brand-new FEI Championship recently, with each country permitted to field a team of four plus two individuals for the inaugural competition, which will be run at CCI4*-S level.

"This is a great initiative which should showcase some of the world's most exciting and talented young riders and should be of great benefit as a stepping stone in helping them upgrade to contention for a senior championship” adds Thomas Duggan

"We have a tradition of presenting fun and friendly events with great cross-country courses in Ireland, the land of the horse, and we look forward to welcoming some new faces this summer."

Alongside the U25 Championship, there will be CCI-L and CCI-S competitions at 4*, 3* and 2* level.

Millstreet is also running its usual international weekend of eventing, plus a Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse qualifier, on May 21-24.
