2017 Event Horse Owners Association Award Winners

 Nicola Wilson and Bulana - individual bronze and team gold winners at the 2017 FEI European Championships

 

The Event Horse Owners Association Annual Awards Dinner took place on Thursday November 23rd in the Ascot Authority Box at Ascot Racecourse.

The contribution of owners to the sport was recognised with various EHOA awards alongside some Awards from British Eventing including the presentation of the BE medal to the Owners and Riders of every British horse that competed in the 2017 FEI European Championships in Strzegom

And the Award recipients were;

Weatherbys Award
Presented to the leading EHOA member with a horse at the European Championships 2017
Awarded to: James & Jo Lambert for their horse Bulana
Presented by: Nick Ryder from Weatherbys

Shearwater Insurance Services Ltd Owner Award in the 7 year old Championship
Presented to the leading EHOA member with a horse in the 7yo Championship at Le Lion d’Angers
Awarded to: Christopher & Lisa Stone for their horse Chilli Knight

Shearwater Insurance Services Ltd Owner Award in the 6 year old Championship
Presented to the leading Owner in the 6yo Championship at Le Lion d’Angers
Awarded to: Charlie Sands, collected by Alex Colquhoun, for his horse Monkeying Around

Bold and Reeves Award
Presented to the winning Owner of the horse winning the Corinthian Cup held at The Festival of British Eventing

Huntridge Plaque
Presented to the Owner of the horse which gains the most BE point in the season, whose sire or dam is a thoroughbred
Awarded to: The Soul Syndicate and their horse Arctic Soul (Martin Bell, Sarah Gibbs, Chris & Lisa Stone) + Linda Allan

The Plum Rowland Plaque (£1000 + £500 training bursary)
Presented to the leading U21 rider who gained the most number of points in the OIU21 classes in 2017

Britannia 3* League

Presented to the winner of the Britannia League

The League recognizes British riders who have not represented Great Britain at a senior Championships; using the BE points system, points are accrued at 3* level events in the UK as well as at FEI Nations Cup fixtures. The Owner of the leading horse will also be presented with a beautiful bronze trophy, thanks to Nigella Hall

Calver Wealth Management 2* League

Presented to the winner of the Calver Wealth Management 2* League. Open to British riders on horses aged nine years or younger, who have not competed at 3 or 4* level; the winner of the league will be the combination that which amasses the most BE points at 2* events in Great Britain. Both the Owner and the rider of the winning horse will receive a generous shared prize fund in recognition of this achievement. The leading Owner of the League will also receive a stunning bronze

Gatehouse 1* League
Won as a combination, the 1* league is open to horses and riders who have not competed at 3* level; the winner of the league will be the combination that amasses the most BE points at 1* events in Great Britain. The winner will receive a trophy and some goodies from the Gatehouse range
