Heidi Bratlie Larsen's English eventing experience

'The dressage is not his favourite phase' says Heidi of Euforian

Norway’s Heidi Bratlie Larsen has qualified for the FEI European Senior Eventing Championships in Strzegom in August and made a recent trip to compete at Chatsworth and Houghton Hall as part of her preparation.

There are not many eventing competitions at the higher levels in Norway so Heidi, along with her husband and two year old daughter, brought her two horses, Caramelle and Euforian, to compete with and against the best at these two competitions

Euforian, her 12 year old Swedish warmblood by Camaro M who ‘has his opinions’, had two very good competitions at 3* level, finishing in eighth place at Chatsworth and 30th at Houghton International. Although their dressage score of 63 left them down the leader board at Houghton they made up for it with a confident cross country round, adding just two time penalties and one rail, the very last on course, in the show jumping

Heidi had been training with Australia’s Chris Burton in the lead-up to the two events but she now heads home on the long trip back to Norway after her English eventing experience
