Laura Collett is recovering from surgery on her collarbone and has posted on her social media that all has gone well and ‘now to nail the recovery!’

Laura had a ‘freak fall’ during cross country training a few weeks ago which displaced a plate and re-broke the collar bone she injured late last year.

“Although I’ve managed a couple of events, I’m going to have to sit out the next couple of weeks”

“I’m very aware of how lucky I was so, although its hard to be missing out at the start of the season, it could have been a whole lot worse and I have an amazing team behind me, keeping the horses in tip-top shape for my return”

“Accidents happen and it’s important to realise it’s not all plain sailing. You just have to pick yourself up and come back stronger” says Laura.

Despite her injury, Laura managed some fabulous performances at Lincolnshire Horse Trials, taking second, third and fourth placings in the Open Intermediate on London 52, Count Onyx and Bling, who is entered for Badminton Horse Trials in early May.

Wishing you better very soon Laura!
