Longest sequence of XC Jump Clears

Well, it may be a mouthful, but they are also some amazing stats

British Eventing and Equi-ratings have come up with the stats on the top five horses who have produced the longest sequence of clear cross country jumping rounds

Move aside Ballaghmor Class, Toledo De Kerser and London 52 as these big guns take their rightful places ………….

The number one is the gorgeous 16-year-old gelding Stanhopes Travelling Man, who has been ridden by Ellie Clarke since mid-2019 and hasn’t put a foot wrong on cross country since then.

But his record streak of 81 cross country clears starts long before that and he has also jumped clear around Badminton. Badminton Grassroots that is, as he was the BE90 Mitsubishi Cup Grassroots Championship winner in 2019 with Laura Greenhalgh in the saddle

The 2019 win was Laura and Stanhope Travelling Man’s their third visit to the Mitsubishi Motors Cup, having first competed there in 2016. In all that time - indeed going back to 2014 - Stanhopes Travelling Man has not incurred a cross country jumping penalty

British Eventing celebrated these great horses and we thought we’d take a look at how they do it over the years. First up of course is Stanhopes Travelling Man ridden by Ellie at Oasby (1) at the start of this season, then second ranked Grianagh Qe Dempsey ridden by Sophie Pettitt at Belsay International 2021 then we go back in time a bit to watch Laura Ridout on Coolodge Sox at Shelford Manor (2) in 2016

Have we filmed you on cross country since 2016? Find out here
