Following the withdrawal of the defending European champion Ros Canter from selection for the British team due to her pregnancy, Great Britain has revised their original longlist.
As well as replacing Ros Canter, who had three horses on the first longlist, there has also been a change to Harry Meade’s listed horse. Harry, who has been dealing recently with injuries sustained during a bicycle riding accident, was originally listed with two horses (Cavalier Crystal and Et Hop Du Matz) but is now listed with one in Graffenacht.
Replacing these four combinations are;
Alexander Bragg (45) from Taunton, Somerset, with Debbie and Neill Nuttall’s Ardeo Premier (bay, gelding, 13yrs, 16.2hh, Hold Up Premier x Cruising, Breeder: Michael Beattie ISH)
Tom Jackson (32) from Godalming, Surrey, with Helen Scott’s Hawk Eye (bay, gelding, 13yrs, 17hh, s. Beach Ball, Breeder: Robert James Smyth ISH) and Michael Stenning’s United 36 (bay, gelding, 9yrs, 16.2hh, Ucello x Espiri, Breeder: Heinrich Bohmke GER)
Izzy Taylor (42) from Bicester, Oxfordshire, with Jane Timmis’ SBH Big Wall (grey, gelding, 10yrs, 16.1hh, Puissance x Courage II, Breeder: John P Murphy ISH)
The final British selection of six riders and horses is expected next week.
