The new format 4 Year Old Showcase at Osberton International completed on Thursday after the 30 plus baby horses were gently put through their paces during a special dressage test, followed by a show jumping round with some cross country obstacles.

Flora Harris riding MGH Hildaire Harlequin won the class on a score of ahead of Ginny Turnbull riding the attractive coloured, Saint Sir Dapper, owned and bred by Jonathan Canty and Simon Grieve riding the grey gelding Haselmere Rockey

MGH Hildaire Harlequin, owned by Anna Sims Hilditch, was bought from Padraig McCarthy as a three-year-old and Flora says "I really feel he is going to be a superstar.

He made everything feel easy and we couldn’t be more delighted.  He will now have  a good rest before next season, but there is no rush with him and we will just take our time.”

The feature section of the day, the class included a dressage test, showjumping and cross-country section incorporating a water jump, bank and ditch and, despite the wet and blustery conditions, MGH Hildaire Harlequin handled it all with ease
