Andrew Hoy's Headcam rides at Keysoe International 2020

Keysoe (3) 2020 - find out more here

The team at Keysoe was looking forward to its first International eventing competition this year, scheduled to take place in June. Due to Covid-19, that event had to be cancelled but they did get another chance to run later in the year with the first Keysoe International finally taking place in late September

Although we were scheduled to film at the originally scheduled event, sadly we couldn’t make the September date but we thought we’d bring you a different XC Video view of the courses instead

Australia’s Andrew Hoy rode both the CCI2*-S on board Linda Mars’ Brigant (above) and the CCI3*-S on Join David and Paula Evans’ Vassilly De Lassos (video below)

“Brigant has had a challenging ‘Corona year’ and this was his first Eventing run of the 2020 season” says Andrew on his Instagram post “So you can see him being a little ‘green’ at times but still mastering all questions asked so very well”

“He grew in confidence all the way around the course, gained a lot of experience - and all in all was only 2 seconds outside the optimum time. I am delighted with his progress and can’t wait to take him out again for a hopefully busy autumn season”

The star of the Australian team at the 2018 World Equestrian Games, the ‘ginger unicorn’ Vassilly De Lassos had a great run around the 3* course to finish in sixth place

There is a bit of wind noise on the video but keep the volume on and listen to how Andrew verbally  encourages and helps his horses with his voice aids

“A beautiful and ‘Covid19 safe’ event with a fantastic course designed by Angus Smales - well done to the whole team at Keysoe and a big ‘Thank you!’ for having us!” says Andrew

We’re sorry we couldn’t have been there for Keysoe’s first International event but we are looking forward to seeing you at Keysoe events in 2021!
