Belsay 2019 – find out more here

Set in beautiful parkland against the backdrop of Belsay Hall and Castle, Belsay Horse Trials in Northumberland is one of the most stunning British Eventing venues. It may be quite far north, but it has been put well and truly on the international eventing map with the recent announcement that Belsay will host the British Pony Championships (CCI-S2*BCP), as well as a CCI-S 2* for all other competitors from 2020-2025.

The organisers at Belsay, Laura and Peter De Wesselow have been working hard to make Belsay a ‘must-do’ event on the calendar and this year’s Belsay Horse Trials which runs on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June promises to be a cracker in the lead-up to next year

We caught up with Laura De Wesselow at Belton Horse Trials to give us a run-down on last year’s event, what is coming up in 2019 and the big news for 2020

Belsay has excellent road access, being only 10 miles from the A1 and features wonderful cross country courses set over beautiful undulating parkland on well-established old turf with a good mixture of natural, permanent and portable obstacles.

There are two water complexes and a comprehensive drainage system ensures fantastic going in the Womble Bond Dickinson Show Jumping Arena. Belsay has a great atmosphere - the main arena, is surrounded by a tented shopping village that provides a superb education for young horses and excellent preparation for big events for older ones.
