Lizzie Baugh is on a roll at Lincolnshire Horse Trials. Having taken the the BE100 Open Section D on Friday with a new ride, Lizzie not only won the Saturday BE100 Section O riding Calida Spice but also won the Open Novice Section K on Shannondale Courage

While Saturday’s BE100 win was a close thing, finishing on an equal score of 30 with Penny Hancox riding Circus Standing Ovation, Lizzie showed a clean pair of heels in the Open Novice. It was a decisive win on a score of 20.7, ahead of strong competition in second placed Sam Ecroyd riding Chapel House (25.8) and Eliza Stoddart on De Pleasure (30.1)

 

Bubby Upton rides Its Cooley Time to win an Open Novice section at Lincolnshire Horse Trials 2023 | An Eventful Life

Bubby Upton and the eight year old Its Cooley Time add just 0.4 time penalties on cross country

 

 Bubby Upton also had a good day at the office, winning the Open Novice Section J riding It’s Cooley Time (25.7) and taking second place on Victor Krum (27.8 - the same score as third placed Harry Findh on Great Guy). While this is the third season together for Bubby and Its Cooley Time, who won the CCI2*-S at Cornbury last year, Victor Krum is a new ride for Bubby, previously campaigned by young rider Oliver Jackson

Bubby will be back on Sunday, giving Cola III and Cannavaro a run in the Advanced Intermediate before they head to the first CCI4* at Thoresby International

 

Indie Vaughan-Jones rides All Over At Midnight to win an Novice section at Lincolnshire Horse Trials 2023 | An Eventful Life

Indie Vaughan-Jones and All Over At Midnight

 

Indie Vaughan-Jones riding All Over At Midnight won the Novice Section H (31.7) and Willa Newton riding Last Hope 10 took the Novice Section I (30.6). Willa also claimed second place in the BE100 Section N on board Morgund behind the class winner, Farrah Cunningham riding Tullibards Bennys Girlpower (27.3)

Ivy Fisher won the Open Novice Under 18 on Global Promise, a past ride of Hector Payne’s and Annie Dean took the Pony Trial Section M riding Great Gatsby S
