This part of the world has seen plenty of rain recently but luckily for the South of England International, it hasn’t caused too many problems

While other events have been forced to cancel, the SsangYong Motor UK South of England International (2) started today with the BE100 and Novice classes and dressage for the CIC1*, CIC2* and CIC1* Pony classes.

      Liz and Castlefield Flash Cooley

Pippa Funnell leads the CIC2* riding Sandman 7 on a score of 39.8, ahead of Chris Burton on Lawtown Boy (41.4) and Mollie Summerland riding Charley Van Ter Heiden while Gemma Wellings has a strong lead in the CIC1* riding the eight year old Drumaclan Diamond D. Gemma is currently on a score of 35.7 ahead of Liz Halliday-Sharp riding Castana Bay (41.3) and Sarah Holmes on Harley Brown (41.4)

Liz had a good day at the office picking up a win in the Novice Section H on Castlefield Flash Cooley, second in the BE100 Section A on Morning Star III and fifth in the Novice Section I on Cooley Moonshine. Pippa Funnell won the BE100 Section A on Billy Wonder while Trudy Johnson on Catch Me If U Can (they couldn’t), Kevin McNab on Eldora W and Sarah Turner on Carsontown Watercolour won the other BE100 Sections.

Indiana Limpus took the Novice Section G on a score of 36 riding Billy Pacific and Gordon Murphy riding Monbeg After Dark won the Novice Section I, on their dressage score of 32.8

Gordon Murphy and Monbeg After Dark made it home for a win but the (wooden) heron on the boat was the casualty of the day, being knocked off its perch by a later competitor
