500 days to Eventing at Paris 2024

In just under 500 days on July 26th 2024, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will commence with a unique opening ceremony taking place along the River Seine

Those taking part in the Eventing competition may not be marching with their team as Eventing is one of the first sports on the agenda, starting on Day One of the Games on 27th July

The venue for the equestrian competitions is the beautiful Chateau de Versailles. Initially built as a simple hunting lodge, the Château de Versailles was the epicentre of French royalty before the Palace and its gardens were opened to the public as a national museum in 1833. It was also the first French site to be awarded UNESCO World Heritage status, in 1979.

During the Paris 2024, a temporary outdoor arena, flanked by several stands, will be set up on the Etoile Royale esplanade, to the west of the Grand Canal, at the heart of the Palace’s gardens. This arena will stage two eventing disciplines (dressage test and jumping), as well as the jumping and dressage competitions (Olympic and Paralympic).

The individual and team eventing cross-country section will be held alongside the Grand Canal, while the five modern pentathlon events will also be organised at the Château de Versailles. The count down is on!
