RIP Caroline Moore

Inspirational British eventing coach, author and mentor Caroline Moore passed away on 8th March 2025 following her three-year long battle with cancer.

“It is with great sadness that Caroline Moore passed away last night” wrote Ros Canter on her social media “Caroline was an inspirational coach and mentor to so many of us, but above all else she was a wonderful friend, and one who I will never forget. What we achieved together I will be forever proud of. Thankyou Caroline for everything”.

Caroline played a pivotal role in Ros' career over the years as coach, mentor and owner of Ros' World Championship winning horse Allstar B, but she was also key in shaping the careers of many other young British riders.

Many of these have joined Ros in expressing their sorrow and loss following Caroline’s death.  A Fellow of the British Horse Society, Caroline’s career was marked by her instrumental role in securing medals for the GB Eventing team, spanning across Juniors, Young Riders, and Seniors. Under her expert guidance, the GB International Youth Teams achieved exceptional success in a number of prestigious international competitions.

Caroline, the author of “Training To Win”, also set up the Performance Mentoring Programme in recent times and throughout her illness she continued to build pathways for young riders via the Programme as a passionate believer in enabling young talent. A GoFundMe Fundraiser for PMP has been set up to keep Caroline's good work going in the future and you can donate here

She also continued to live her life to the full as far as her illness allowed, enjoying her love of underwater diving, gardening and travelling with her husband Greg and many friends.

We have been lucky enough to work with Caroline over the years and join with those mourning her passing. In our many chats and interviews, a recurring theme was that of the Champion mindset. In our minds, Caroline not only helped create Champions, but she was one herself.
