Ros Canter and her husband Chris McAleese have announced the birth of their second baby daughter.
“The newest member of the team is here!” said Ros on her social media, showing a photo of her holding the baby outside the stable of 2025 Badminton and Burghley winner, Lordships Graffalo, who was posing for the camera with his tongue out!
“Walter welcoming her with his usual charm and sense of humour! Chris, Ziggy and I are very proud and feeling extremely lucky,” said Ros.
The baby, whose name has not been revealed, was born on 24th January and joins her sister Ziggy Grace, who was born in July 2019. Ros returned to competition shortly after the birth of her first baby, taking several international wins in the next few months and we hope to see her back in competition at the start of the 2026 season. After winning Burghley Horse Trials in September 2025, Ros did say that she hoped to aim for Badminton 2026 to try and repeat her double 5* win.
And, as Ros was pregnant at the time of competing at Burghley 2025, their new daughter is, as Ros points out, “a baby who has already jumped around Burghley!”
