Skydiving eventers raise money for Willberry Wonder Pony

In September eventing rider and commentator Spencer Sturmey willingly submitted to having his head shaved by Zara Phillips at Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials to raise money for Hannah Francis’ charity Wilberry Wonder Pony

Now Spencer and other eventing riders are taking to the skies for one of the biggest jumps of their lives as they participate in a tandem skydive challenge to raise funds for Hannah’s charity at the Army Parachute Association, Netheravon, Wiltshire.

Eventing riders Dani Evans, Tom Grant, Laura Collett and Head Girl to Pippa Funnell, Frankie Murrell are among those joining Spencer and of course they will be taking their Berry ponies along for the ride (or dive) on Saturday October 29th

Eventing riders may be used to taking falls but they are not usually from two miles above ground! Both Dani and Tom have admitted that this is a very scary prospect but, as Dani told British Eventing, “I know I will be petrified but nothing can be as frightening as the fear Hannah faced, and we are doing this to keep her memory and the charity alive and kicking!"

The participants will be raising money for Willberry Wonder Pony, which funds bone cancer research and 'Wilberry's Wishes', and you can show your support by donating through the Willberry SkyDiving JustGiving page or find out more about becoming a Friend of the Charity here
