A huge four days at Cholmondeley Castle wrapped up on Tuesday with some young stars taking out classes alongside the big names

The current British Under 25 Champion, who won the title at Bramham in 2019, Yasmin Ingham added a win in the Intermediate Section W here to that of her Intermediate win at Aston-Le-Walls two weeks ago, both on board Banzai Du Loir. It was an impressive win on their dressage score of 24.6, finishing well ahead of second place Tom Rowland riding KND Steel Pulse (32.4) and the rest of the field

Craig Barr and MBF Dassett Legacy took the Intermediate Section V while Imogen Murray riding Tomgar Jess took the Open Novice Section Z and Oliver Townend riding Cooley Rosalent finished off with another win, this time in the Novice Section A1

The Open Intermediate classes, like Monday’s top sections, were packed with top riders and their horses and two well-known ladies went home with wins. Piggy March on board her new ride Dargun won the OI Section X and Laura Collett on Dacapo took the Section Y.

A very good day at the office for Laura Collett - seen here on board second placed London 52

Laura and Dacapo started with a very good dressage score of 24.3 and, although she added 1.2 time penalties on cross country, second placed Bubby Upton on Cannavaro couldn’t catch her. Bubby also took fourth place on Cola III while it was Laura’s turn to have two top ten placings in the OI Section X

Piggy and Dargun won that section with a score of 22.1 ahead of Laura riding London 52 (24.1) in second place and Mr Bass in tenth while Ireland’s Aoife Clark took third place on board Celus d’Ermac Z (28)
