The best youth athletes under the age of 18 from across the UK are competing at BE90, BE100 and CCI-L YR2* level this week at Bishop Burton College in Yorkshire

After the excitement of the Opening Ceremony, it was down to business in the dressage arenas on Thursday and Friday while Saturday saw all competitors take to the cross country course designed by Joe Weller

Rosie Ringer riding Classic Composer, a horse previously ridden by Harry Meade, held the lead after dressage in the CCI2*-L Young Rider class and they stayed on top on Saturday, adding nothing to their score on cross country. But Scarlett Starkey riding Birchcol Rock Idol is just a whisker behind on 29.9 heading into the final day’s show jumping

Ellie Hastings and Mr Cin Cin are on top of the CCI2*-L Junior class with a score of 28.3 but again it is a very close thing with Grace Botterell riding Diamond Pippin in second (28.5) and Charlotte Bull riding Jesse Campbell’s past rider Amsterdam 21 in third place (30.7)

Archie Humfrey riding Hokus Pokus leads the BE100 U18 Open Championship and Lucy Copeland riding Dernahatten Colour Code leads the BE90 U18 Championship

The second horse inspection takes place in reverse order on Sunday morning before the start of the show jumping. The BE100 class jumps first followed by the CCI2* classes and finishing with the BE90 Championship, by which time we will know who are the newly crowned British Youth Champions!
