The Eventing Spring Carnival has attracted the crème de la crème of the eventing world and replaces the hugely popular Belton Park Horse Trials that was always such a popular spring fixture.

This exciting new event takes place from 31st March to 3rd April and is set to bring together leading event riders competing for the major spoils over the four days at Thoresby Park in Nottinghamshire.

“We are on a countdown to The Eventing Spring Carnival and would encourage all those who used to come along to Belton to enjoy a day at Thoresby Park” says organiser Stuart Buntine of BEDE Events

“The estate is a fantastic setting and as well as top class eventing action there is something for all members of the family to enjoy.”

Riders entered include the Tokyo 2020 gold medal winning Olympic team members Oliver Townend, Laura Collett and Tom McEwen and their star rides, Ballaghmor Class, London 52 and Toledo De Kerser along with Australian team silver medallist Kevin McNab on Scuderia 1918 A Best Friend

And if that’s not enough the gold medal winning team, and individual gold, silver and bronze medallists from last year’s Europeans will also be in action with Nicola Wilson, Piggy March, Sarah Bullimore and Ros Canter all set to compete at this exciting new venue.

The eventing action includes the CCI2*-S and Novice classes on Warner Hotels Friday; The CCI3*, Intermediate and Open Intermediate on Investec Saturday and the Lycetts Grantham Cup (CCI4*-S) and Advanced on Lycetts Sunday.  Also running throughout the event is the Animalintex Leading Rider Award - which rider will take the prize at grand finale?

As well as catching all the action from the dressage, showjumping and cross-country, the team at BEDE Events has also ensured there is plenty of fun for all the family, even the non-horsey ones!

If you prefer steam powered to horse powered why not have a go on the Miniature Railway, regular visitors to Thoresby will have seen how popular this is, and also how much fun.

Re-live your youth with a go on the vintage fairground attractions with stalls including hook a duck, a vintage shooter, chair-o-planes, mini roundabouts, and of course the steam gallopers - maybe a few of the leading riders will be saddling up to have a go!

The team from the Tournament Ground Activity Centre will be in action providing expert advice on axe and knife throwing and Archery.

If it’s the cut and thrust of polo that gets you going, look out for the games and demonstrations from Thoresby Polo Club on the Sunday after the show jumping.

At the other end of the scale, visitors will also be able to watch Shire Horse plaiting and turnout demonstrations and see the expert art of farriery in action.

Craft demonstrations, a classic car rally hosted by Grantham Classic Car Club and music from the Moonshiners on Saturday and Sunday, and Heather Flint acoustic guitarist on the Sunday offers plenty of choice and variety for all the family.

And if you are taking your canine friend along, get involved in the dog show or dog agility with Support Dogs.
