Aspen Cooling Osberton (2) International Horse Trials 2025 Preview

Osberton (2) International Horse Trials cross country videos

The end of season 'Oktoberfest' party is here at this week’s Aspen Cooling Osberton (2) International Horse Trials on the Osberton Estate near Worksop, Nottinghamshire.

As well as the International classes at CCI3*-L, CCI2*-L, CCI2*-Pony and CCI1* levels, there is also a new competition opportunity for amateur riders at BE105 level.

The Agria Amateur BE105 will run at BE105 level, making use of existing British Eventing dressage tests, a slightly reduced CCI1*/105 cross-country and a showjumping at 105cm, rather than the 110cm that has often caused undue issues for those tackling the CCI1*.

The class also runs from Friday to Sunday, thereby reducing the number of days required at the event by amateur riders, many of whom will be requiring extended periods away from work. Competition will run with dressage, followed by showjumping and finishing with cross-country on Sunday.

For the international long format riders, competition begins with the first horse inspection on Wednesday followed by dressage on Thursday and Friday with cross country on Saturday for the 3*, 2* and Ponies.

Top British riders Tom McEwen, Bubby Upton, Emily King, Kitty King and Sarah Bullimore are among those with talented young horses in the Rathbones CCI3*-L. They are joined by competitors from Australian and New Zealand in Sammi Birch, Bill Levett, Tayla Mason, Ginny Thomasen and Vicky Browne-Cole plus Japan’s Shoto Kusumoto riding Swiper JRA and the USA’s Cassie Sanger. Sammi also has two in the Arena Saddles CCI2*-L in Hamilton Cooley and Parkfield Pumpkin, winner of the CCI2*-S here last year.
