We’ve already mentioned the brilliant line-up of stars competing at Belsay International, sponsored by Barbour, taking place this week (15-17 May 2026).

The Northumberland event which is attracting the reigning world champion Yasmin Ingham, European and Olympic gold medallist Laura Collett, both competing multiple horses including their top mounts, Banzai Du Loir and London 52 will be joined by triple Badminton winner Ros Canter, this time riding Izilot DHI and MHS Seventeen.

The 3* and 4* dressage starts on Thursday, with showjumping and cross country on Saturday. But Belsay isn’t just about the international classes, it is packed with top riders across the four days of both national and international competition.

Friday also sees Novice and Intermediate competitors in action with Tom McEwen bringing JL Dublin for a leg stretch in the Open Intermediate. Another Intermediate class is held on Saturday plus the Advanced which sees New Zealand’s Clarke Johnstone come forward with three horses in Sparky Lad, Domasco and Menlo Park.

The CCI1*-S also starts on Saturday and completes on Sunday, when the CCI2*-S also completes and the BE105, Novice, Open Novice Under 18 and Pony Trial take place.

Belsay is also the first leg of the Northumberland Challenge with its prize pots for the CCI classes, and we'll be watching the CCI3* classes across these three events at Belsay, Alnwick Ford and Burgham with great interest and more than a little trepidation!
