“The ground is looking brilliant, courses fabulous, and our huge showjumping arena perfect for all weathers” says Event Organiser Catherine Sykes at Bishop Burton (1) Horse Trials

The East Yorkshire event hosted by Bishop Burton College has several BE90 and BE100 sections, including U18, running on Saturday and Sunday sees one section of BE100 plus Novice, Intermediate and Open Intermediate classes

There are several on-form combinations in the Open Intermediate with Sam Ecroyd riding Chapel House, the Open Intermediate winner at Eventing Spring Carnival at Thoresby Park and runner-up in the recent CCI3*-S at Floors Castle and Scotland’s top rider Wills Oakden with his young Keep It Cooley, who took ninth place at the 2022 Le Lion World Young Horse Championships

Heidi Coy’s talented mare Russal Z is also having her first cross country run of the season and Heidi also has Clonshire On Trend, who won the Intermediate at sister Bishop Burton’s sister event at Lincolnshire in March

Sam also horses in the lower classes, as does Badminton Champion Ros Canter with Silvesters Finesse one to watch in the BE90, the winner here and at several events last year and recent winner of the Six-Year-Old class at Cirencester Park (1)

Cross country course Designer Joe Weller makes good use of the Bishop Burton College Parkland, creating inviting courses over undulating ground with a mixture of permanent and portable fences. The weather forecast good and spectators are welcome with free entry, so why not come along!
