In 2020, Burnham Market was an indicator of the topsy turvy year, hosting its first event of the year in September after the cancellation of its International in the early part of the season and then adding a Burnham Market (3) to replace the cancelled Blenheim Palace International

Thankfully this year, life has been a little more ‘normal’ and, not only is Blenheim Palace International running under its new stewardship of The Jockey Club, but Burnham Market events have been in their rightful dates

So, after some seaside eventing in Devon at Bicton last week, this weekend we head back to the Norfolk coast for more eventing-by-the-sea at Burnham Market (2).

While Burnham Market (1) is the first International of the year run by Alec Lochore and his team at Musketeer Events, Burnham Market (2) is all about the lower level national classes with riders competing from BE90 up to Open Intermediate.

We’ll be keeping an eye out for two very in-form riders in the Open Intermediate – Wills Oakden, coming off two wins at Richmond (2) last weekend, this time riding Oughterard Cooley, and Heidi Coy with Royal Fury and Porsche - while Mary Edmundson, who had a good event here last year across the classes, is competing last year’s Intermediate winner Lionel II
