The Event Horse Owners Association in conjunction with British Eventing hosted their annual Awards presentation during Badminton Horse Trials with some very worthy recipients being celebrated and the award presentation preceded by a lovely reception with drinks and canapés. The EHOA presented the following awards to celebrate their success in the 2025 season.
EHOA Awards 2025
European Individual Award
A glassware trophy presented to the highest placed horse owned by a member, and ridden by a British rider, at the European Championships held at Blenheim Palace, presented by Tim Slinger from Lycetts Insurance to Karen Bartlett and Keith Scott owners of London 52 ridden by Laura Collett.
Taylormade Financial Management & EHOA Veteran Eventing Championship Award
A glassware trophy presented together with a cheque of £500 to the horse and rider combination gaining the highest number of points at BE competitions throughout the Season, presented by Alex Mawdesley, EHOA Board Director to Philippa Hendry, owner and rider of Flyer des Coupeaux, who had also just won the BE 100 Grassroots Championships at Badminton earlier in the day.
Taylormade Financial Management & EHOA Veteran Eventing Championship Over 60 Award
A cheque of £100 to the highest placed rider over 60 in the Championship was presented to Philippa Hendry, owner and rider of Flyer des Coupeaux by Alex Mawdesley, EHOA Board Director.
Taylormade Financial Management & EHOA Veteran Eventing Championship Runner Up
A cheque of £250 to the runner up in the championship, presented by Alex Mawdesley, EHOA Board Director to Deborah Burrell owner and rider of Imperial Tangle.
Taylormade Financial Management & EHOA Veteran Eventing Championship Runner Up
A cheque for £100 to the highest placed horse owned by an EHOA member not receiving any of the above prizes, presented by Alex Mawdesley, EHOA Board Director to Dinah Smith owner and rider of Culmore JJ.
The Plum Rowland Award
A cheque for £1000 and a glassware trophy presented to the rider aged 21 years and under who gained the greatest number of points in the Open Intermediate Under 21 classes. This was won by Elizabeth Barrett and presented by Tor Rickcord, EHOA Board Director.
The Blenheim Young Horse Championship Award (8/9 Year Old)
A glassware trophy was presented to the owners, who are EHOA members, of the highest placed horse in the Eight and Nine-year-old CCI4*-S class held at Blenheim Palace. This was presented by Patrick Peake from Weatherbys Bank to EHOA owners who form part of the syndicate – Neil Robertson, Annabelle Greville Williams and Juliet Humphries for Quantas R, ridden by Sam Lissington.
The Cornbury Young Horse Championship Award (7-Year-Old)
A glassware trophy presented to the owners, who are EHOA members, of the highest placed horse in the Championship for seven-year-old horses held at Cornbury Park. This was presented by Patrick Peake from Weatherbys Bank to Diana Chappell, Teresa Stopford Sackville, Jinks Morris Adams and Carolyn Taylor, owners of Cooley Iceage, ridden by Laura Collett.
The Cornbury Young Horse Championship Award (6-Year-Old)
A glassware trophy presented to the owners, who are EHOA members, of the highest placed horse in the Championship for six-year-old horses held at Cornbury Park. Presented by Patrick Peake from Weatherbys Bank to Nicky & Robin Salmon owners of Earl Dorado ridden by Max Warburton.
The Cornbury Young Horse Championship Award (5-Year-Old)
A glassware trophy presented to the owner, who is an EHOA member, of the highest-placed horse in the Championship for five-year-old horses held at Cornbury Park. Presented by Patrick Peake from Weatherbys Bank to Camilla Behrens owner of Vinerado’s Affair ridden by Max Warburton.
The Barbara Cooper Trophy
Awarded by the EHOA to a ‘young’ athlete who has produced good results throughout the season but notably has a good cross-country performance at Burghley Horse Trials. This was presented by the EHOA Chair, Alex Wakeley to Alice Casburn.
British Eventing Awards 2025
The presentation then moved on to the British Eventing awards which were all presented by Rosie Williams, CEO of British Eventing.
Calcutta Light Horse Trophy Leading Horse
Presented to the owners of the horse with the highest number of BE points registered with British Eventing in the 2025 Season. Recipients Mr Keith Scott, Karen Bartlett, Laura Collett for London 52.
Tony Collins Trophy - Leading Rider
Presented to the British Rider gaining the most BE points in the 2025 season. Recipient: Laura Collett
Edy Goldman Cup - Leading U21 rider
Presented to the British U21 Rider gaining the most BE points in the 2025 season. Recipient: Elizabeth Barratt
Sir John Burder Trophy - Best Young Rider at the Young Rider European Championships
Presented to the British rider who was the highest placed at the Young Rider European Championships. Recipient: Isabelle Cook
Hubert Allfrey Trophy - Best British Junior
Presented to the British Rider who was placed the highest at the Junior European Championships in 2025, Recipient: Ella Howard
Jane Holderness-Roddam Trophy - Highest placed Senior British Rider at Championships
Presented to the highest placed British Rider at the 2025 Championships – Blenheim Europeans. Recipient: Laura Collett
Jane Rook Trophy Highest Placed British Rider at the Pony European Championships
Presented to the British rider who was the highest placed at the Pony European Championships. Recipient: Annabel Ridgway
Wide Awake Trophy – Leading British Bred Horse
Presented to the owner/rider of the British bred horse with the highest number of BE points registered with British Eventing in the 2025 Season. Recipients: Ros Canter & Lordships Graffalo owned by Archie Saul & Michele Saul
Britannia Trophy - 4* League
British rider with the most wins at CCI4* level without having represented Britain at a Championships. Recipient: David Doel
Volunteer of the Year – Mary McNulty
Young Volunteer of the Year – Rose Chugg-Martin
Fence Judge of the Year – Pippa Best
