Immensely popular with all the top British-based riders, Northern England’s premier equestrian event at Burgham International Horse Trials is a unique opportunity to see the stars of eventing in a particularly relaxed and friendly environment.
This year’s event, taking place from 24-27 July 2025, will host international classes from CCI4*-S to CCI2*-S, national British Eventing classes from Open Intermediate to BE90, Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse qualifiers, and a Thoroughbred and Ex-Racehorses Show. New for 2025 will be unaffiliated showjumping, with classes from 80cm to 1.20m, on Saturday, 26 July.

“The cross-country course will have a fresh look, and the addition of showjumping classes at a range of heights means that, with the grassroots eventing classes and the well-established Thoroughbred and Ex-Racehorses Show, there are so many opportunities for riders from Northern England to compete alongside their equestrian heroes. Burgham is one of the best weeks of the year, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone to our lovely event again in July.”
Burgham is situated just off the A1 between Morpeth and Alnwick, and boasts excellent viewing for spectators, four full days of cross-country to watch, great tradestands and delicious local food and drink. The ever-popular dog show will take place on both Saturday, 26 July and Sunday, 27 July.
