Following our first visit to Larkhill Horse Trials last year, we’re delighted to be back in 2025, filming all competitors on cross country.

This year the Larkhill Horse Trials, sponsored by Parker Bullen Solicitors, will run for three days from Friday 4th – Sunday 6th April across the grounds of the Larkhill Racecourse on Salisbury Plain and entries are now open across the classes from BE90 to Intermediate Novice.

Friday Classes: BE90, BE90 Open, BE100, GO BE100, Intermediate Novice, Novice, Open Novice
Saturday Classes: BE100, BE100 Open, BE100 Open U18, Novice, Open Novice U18, Pony Trial Novice
Sunday Classes: BE90, GO BE90, BE90 Open U18, BE100

Like many events last year, Larkhill suffered some very wet weather but, even so, there was much praise for the organisation of the event, the ground conditions and the courses.

“The cross-country was a proper track - the first real question wasn’t until about fence 10, but then it got more intense with a sunken road and then a coffin combination, but she just cruised round”, said Ellie Fredericks, winner of last year’s BE90 Open on a catch ride, Hera’s Nightingale.

Harry Meade, winner of a Novice section last year on Kilcannon Sensation, is another big fan of the venue, having already paid a visit this month to school his horses on a ‘proper, open cross country’ course.

“I bring the horses here because Larkhill is one of the best places in the country” says Harry in a video on the Larkhill Facebook page “The going is always perfect and we’re very excited that there is going to be three days of the BE fixture this spring”
