LOTTO Strzegom Horse Trials 2020 underway

Tim Price and Wesko currently lead the CCI4*-L on a score of 28.7

New Zealand’s Tim and Jonelle Price have got off to a flying start at the LOTTO Strzegom Horse Trials in Poland after the first handful of tests took place on Thursday

The CCI4*-L was dominated by the two Kiwi riders with Tim in first and second places on Wesko and Spartaco, and Jonelle riding Grappa Nera and McClaren in third and fourth.

“I was really pleased with both horses” said Jonelle “Grappa Nera is only nine years old, so she’s quite unestablished in some of the work on this level, but every time she’s getting better and better. McClaren is a new ride for me this season, he’s got so much talent. I don’t think we’re quite there, where I know he can get to, but he’s doing some lovely work”

The current leader of the 3* long class is Dutch rider Mara Van de Ven with Lexington van de Vinkenhof, and her teammate, Merel Blom riding Corminta vom Gwick, tops the CCI2*-L

In the CCIP2*-L, Matti Garlichs has taken the lead with Andante while Germany’s Sophie Leube leads the Intro class with Skyjacker 3.

The second leg of the FEI Nations Cup begins on Friday with Ingrid Klimke returning to competition on SAP Asha P in the teams’ competition and SAP Hale Bob in the individual competition

Strzegom live coverage begins on Friday on Facebook and YouTube, with Saturday's cross-country to be shown on FEI TV.
