We’re heading to a new venue for us in June with our cross country video team filming at Mendip Plains Ston Easton Horse Trials on 6 & 7th June 2026.
Entries are now open for the event held at the Mendip Plains Equestrian Centre at Ston Easton, near Bath in Somerset, a facility owned by the Green family who have been farming on the Waldegrave Estate in Chewton Mendip and Ston Easton for over 80 years. The family-feel of the event is clear, with the organisers saying that “Our aim is to provide a friendly face and a facility for all ages and abilities. Whether horse-riding is just a hobby to you, or you are out to produce the next Badminton winner, we hope we can help in some kind of way”.
Their cross country course and 90m x 50m all-weather outdoor arena with sand and fibre surface are generally available for hire but on the weekend of the 6th & 7th June, they will be the focus of the Mendip Plains Ston Easton Horse Trials classes that run from BE80 to BE100 Open.
Well-known course designer Adrian Ditcham is making use of the many permanent features on the established cross country fields including the main water complex, steps up and down, ditches and natural mounds.
“Black flag options will be offered where necessary to allow established combinations at the level to progress and less experienced combinations to grow in confidence. The courses will not be maximum distance and every effort will be made to ensure good going across all courses” say the organisers.
