As the FEI Defender Blair Castle International Horse Trials ramps up towards its big event from 24th – 27th August, there is news in the sponsorship area as well as the announcement of its chosen charity for 2023.

Leading wealth manager RBC Brewin Dolphin has this week confirmed its sponsorship of the Defender Blair Castle International Horse Trials at Blair Atholl in Perthshire, one of the world’s largest equestrian festivals, held at the iconic 13th century Blair Castle.

Part of Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), RBC Brewin Dolphin is a business focused on helping private clients, family offices and institutions plan and shape their financial futures by protecting, growing and managing their money.

The new arrangement with Blair Castle International continues RBC Brewin Dolphin’s long-standing relationship with equestrian events, including the renowned Burghley Horse Trials. This new sponsorship agreement includes branding a high-profile cross country fence (oh, we do hope it’s a very big dolphin in the water complex!) along with branding, advertising and member hospitality.

Defender Blair Castle International Horse Trials also recently announced that its charity partner for 2023 will be Macmillan Cancer Support.

Pledging to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as possible, the charity provides confidential emotional, practical, physical and financial support. It also supports healthcare professionals while fundraising and campaigning at both local and national level.

Nicky Townshend, Assistant Director of Defender Blair Castle Horse Trials, said: “We are delighted to support such a worthy cause. Cancer touches so many lives, both directly and indirectly, and the work of Macmillan Cancer Support is a lifeline for countless people affected by the disease. We are looking forward to working together, raising funds and awareness for the charity.”

Running over four days, Defender Blair Castle International Horse Trials is Scotland’s premier equestrian event attracting over 45,000 visitors every year, who come to watch top class sport and take advantage of the extensive shopping opportunities.

Many of the world's leading event riders attend – indeed the current top four world ranked eventers are all past Blair winners - while Blair also hosts lower level international and national competitions, alongside multiple showing and show jumping classes.

Tickets are available on the event website here with advance booking discounts available for some.
