The time has come and we’re off and running again in the UK, at least with the first entries open for 2026!
Our first Cross Country Video event will be at the highly popular Oasby (1) Horse Trials in Lincolnshire on Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th March 2026.
The midweek event is very much geared towards the professional riders getting their horses out at a venue renowned for its good going and encouraging courses for the first run of the year. Classes will run at Open Intermediate, Intermediate, Open Novice, Novice, BE100 and BE100 Open on both days with the addition of an Open Intermediate U21 on Thursday 12th.
Last year Emily King on Valmy Biats and Piggy March on Cooley Goodwood claimed the two Open Intermediate classes. Ros Canter and Lordships Graffalo, who went on to win Badminton two months later, took a gentle stroll around the Open Intermediate course but Ros enjoyed two wins in the Novice on up-and-coming stars, Graffito and Broadstone Lion Man, who both went on to have multiple wins throughout the season. These two are certainly ones to keep an eye on this season and of course everyone is looking forward to seeing new mum Ros back in the saddle after sitting out the end of last season due to her pregnancy.
Oasby (1) entries opened 2nd February with a Ballot Date of Tuesday 17th February. Organisers BEDE Events are encouraging riders to get in early for the event which is usually full by ballot date and also recommend that horse, rider and owner memberships are all up to date ahead of ballot date.
