New Zealand’s Samantha Lissington held onto her lead in the GFS Saddles 8/9 Year Old CCI4*-S class on Saturday at the Agria Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials.

Sam and the nine-year-old Quantas R, winner of the CCI4*-L at Chaumont En Vexin in May, stayed on their leading dressage score of 22.4. But the scores remain tight, with Britain’s Gemma Stevens, Thursday’s dressage leader on Cooley Park Muze, just 0.5 penalties behind (22.9) and Britain’s Sarah Bullimore riding her home-bred Corimiro in third (24.8), with both producing double clear showjumping rounds.

Kevin McNab is the highest placed Australian rider with Wilfred Lancer in 12th place on a score of 31.4 after adding just two time penalties; his second horse Faro Imp also jumped clear with 0.8 time penalties for 35th place.

Sammi Birch riding Parkfield Artie Blou is in 50th place (40.3), Sarah Clark riding Casallia S is in 69th and Isabel English riding Cil Dara Bombay S is in 73rd place.

The 8/9 Year Old class competitors complete with cross country on Sunday around the David Evans’ designed CCI4*-S course, with the top 16 running in reverse order.
