After the first horse inspection on Wednesday at Belsay International, with all long format and pony competitors passing with flying colours and some of the first dressage tests being done, Nothumberland turned on some beautiful sunny weather for a full day of dressage on Thursday

The dressage for the CCI2* classes and the British Pony Championships is now complete with Isabelle Cook, daughter of British Olympian Tina Cook, not only leading the class on Mexican Law but also in third place riding Mexican Rose in the Barbour CCI-L2*J Section A. Finn Healy, a past gold Pony Europeans medallist, separates Isabelle’s two horses on board Father’s Compromise

Finn’s ‘wonder pony’ and double gold medallist, Midnight Dancer II currently sits in third place of the Project Pony British Pony Championships Section B, with his new rider Charlotte Cooke. This class is led by Annabel Finston and Cuffesgrange Little Ric, another past European Pony medallist with Erin Jennings and Night Fury in second place

The competitors form these two classes head out on cross country on Friday and show jump on Saturday

The AW Jenkinson Forest Products CCI2*S Section C is a real international affair, currently led by Cheshire-based Dutch rider, Nina de Haas who has been on a roll lately with wins at Bishop Burton (1) and Kelsall Hill International. She leads here with her 10-year-old mare Enola, ahead of her compatriot Andrew Heffernan riding SSK Cape Cooley and France’s Victor Burtin and Bergerac, another combination coming off a win at Warwick Hall (1)

Friday sees the CCI2*-S class complete with both cross country and show jumping phases
