Yogi Breisner joins Windrush Equestrian Foundation team

Swedish Eventing Team advisor, Yogi Breisner has joined the Windrush Equestrian Foundation team and will be helping Burghley 2019 winner, Pippa Funnell in mentoring and training the Windrush Class of 2020.

Born in Sweden, Yogi competed as a Junior in both pure dressage and show jumping before becoming a member of the Senior Swedish Eventing team. Winning European Team Gold in 1983 and representing Sweden at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, Yogi also finished in the top 10 at Badminton 5* four times meaning he brings a wealth of experience to his role at The Windrush Equestrian Foundation.

As World Class Performance Manager and Chef d'Equipe of the British Eventing Team, Yogi Breisner enjoyed more success at multiple European Championships, World Equestrian Games and at the 2004 Athens, 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Olympic Games.

As part of his role with the Foundation, Yogi sat on the 2020 Selection Panel earlier this year. During the coming season, he will help Pippa put together event plans with the riders and be on hand to offer on-the-ground advice to them at a number of venues throughout the 2020 season.

He will also be available throughout the year to answer any questions or provide any mentoring that the riders feel they need from him to compliment the support they get from three-time Olympic medallist Pippa. Yogi will be present to offer his expertise at the Riders’ next training session at The Billy Stud in January.

“It’s a privilege and a pleasure to be involved in such a great initiative and I am looking forward to working with the riders who will hopefully be the next generation of top event riders” says Yogi
