With the 2025 FEI Asian Championships only just complete, the Thai Polo Equestrian Club in Pattaya (THA) is ready to host yet another big championship for the region with equestrian sports for the 2025 Southeast Asian Games SEA GAMES Thailand taking place from 13th – 19th December.

The Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) is a biannual multi-sport event involving participants from the current 11 countries of Southeast Asia, held under the regulation of the Southeast Asian Games Federation with supervision by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Olympic Council of Asia.

Equestrian sports are not always included in the fixture list, which this year features a line-up of 50 sports in the 33rd edition, but all three Olympic equestrian disciplines of eventing, showjumping and dressage will be taking place during the 2025 SEA Games at the Thai Polo Club.

The Eventing competition is the first discipline that gets underway on Friday 12th with the first horse inspection. All three phases of the eventing competition are then held during one day on Saturday 13th December under the FEI World Challenge rules, where riders can compete on borrowed horses they have already been training on, as SEA Games Eventing Ground Jury President Helen Christie (NZL) recently explained during our interview at Sydney International 3 Day Event.

18 competitors are taking part from Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore and Indonesia with the recent individual bronze and team gold medallist at the FEI Asian Championships, Korntawat Samran, once again taking part, this time on his own Fiorano Des Deux Lacs.

We’ll be keeping an eye on the action and bring you more after Saturday’s eventing!
