“I have a really exciting, strong team of horses” says Alex Hua Tian “Straight after Rio we sat down as a team and focused on making sure that we were really organized for this Olympic cycle”

Samantha Clark caught up with Alex at Barbury recently to chat with the Chinese Olympian about his new horses and plans for the team heading towards Tokyo 2020

New owners have recently come on board and invested in some new horsepower for this Olympic cycle so Alex’s team of seven competition horses now includes the nine year old PSH Convivial and the 10 year old DHI Jet Set who he hopes will step up to 3* later this year to join the ‘snakes and ladders’ but super talented Don Geniro and Ballytiglea Vivendi

Alex is still hoping to qualify for the World Equestrian Games in Tryon in September but the Asian Games in August are the priority for him in 2018 while “2019 is all about individual qualification so we’ll be travelling out to the depths of Europe to catch points”

And we’ll be following him all the way to Tokyo!
