Canada nominates Tokyo 2020 eventing individuals

Equestrian Canada and its selectors have named the combinations that have qualified to be nominated to compete at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games

Prior to being named to Team Canada, all nominations are subject to approval by the Canadian Olympic Committee’s (COC’s) Team Selection Committee following its receipt of nominations by all National Sport Organizations.

Final selections for the Canadian Equestrian Team will be announced in early July, pending the conclusion of the appeals period.

Canada have not qualified a team for eventing at Tokyo 2020 but have nominated combinations for their two individual spots and two non-travelling reserves.

They are:

  • Colleen Loach and Qorry Blue d’Argouges Owner: Peter Barry   Groom: Jamie Kellock
  • Jessica Phoenix and Pavarotti Owner: Jessica Phoenix   Groom: Brooke Massie

Non-travelling reserves are:

  • Karl Slezak and Fernhill Wishes Owner: Kirk Hoppner and Karl Slezak
  • Hawley Bennett-Awad and Jollybo Owner: Hawley Bennett-Awad and Jollybo Syndicate LLC
