US-based Australian rider Ryan Wood has sadly advised of the loss of his equine partner of many years, Woodstock Bennett.
The 18-year-old Irish Sport Horse had been retired from eventing for several years, enjoying a second career in the dressage ring in more recent times with his owner Curran Simpson in the saddle.
Woodstock Bennett came to Ryan as a four-year-old who had just started his equestrian career in Ireland as a showjumper and the pair won at all levels as they moved up the grades in eventing. Before his retirement Woodstock Bennett tackled his first CCI5* in great style, taking eighth place at Les Etoiles de Pau in 2018 and was also the winner of the Bromont CCI3* (now 4*) in 2016.
