Cross Country Video Position Australia

An Eventful Life Cross Country Videographer - Australia

This is a unique opportunity to work in equestrian media.

An Eventful Life is an Australian based website covering the equestrian sport of eventing internationally. We provide eventing fans with on-line news and event information alongside our cross country video service which allows competitors, coaches, family and friends the opportunity to relive their full cross country round via our video service.

We film at more than 60 events a year in the UK and Australia. We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals to manage the filming at events in NSW and Southern Queensland in 2024.

After in-field training you will be required to manage the set up and monitoring of cameras throughout the day at selected events. You will also be required to liaise with event organisers and their officials.

This is an opportunity to take on a role of responsibility and to work with a well-respected media company working internationally within the sport of eventing.

The role

We are looking for people to assist with the production of our cross country video service during eventing competitions. The role will involve working on weekends plus travel and a set up day for the event. The eventing season runs between February and November each year and you will be required to travel to events throughout NSW and Southern Queensland. We are planning to film at 20 events throughout Australia in 2024; we would anticipate the NSW-based person covering 6 – 12 of these events during the year. An attractive remuneration package is on offer with travel, accommodation and meal allowances included.

Skills and personal attributes

The successful applicant will be well organised with an outgoing and friendly personality who enjoys travel and working outdoors. You may have some photographic/videography experience although this is not essential. Familiarity with an equestrian environment is preferred and an understanding of the sport of eventing will be a definite advantage. You must have a current driver’s licence and be a car owner. As the work is outdoors you will need to be comfortable working in all weather conditions, the work can be physically demanding and so a reasonable level of physical fitness is essential. You will need to do some file copying so basic computer skills are required.

Full training will be provided; a work schedule for 2024 will be prepared and mutually agreed upon with the successful applicant.
