It may be fitting that, on International Woman’s Day, it was a female rider that took the top class at the REC Equine Specialists Sydney Eventing Autumn Classic 2025.
Emma Mason and KPH Kingfisher started their season strongly last year with a win at the inaugural Ellerston Scone Horse Trials and they have done it again, winning the CCN4* at SIEC, moving up from ninth place after Saturday's dressage. Emma’s horse may be big, but he was the fastest on cross country today, taking the win on a score of 46.6 ahead of Gordon Bishop riding Advantage Hill and Liv Shore on Elvira Castana.
Emma also claimed second place in the Horseland Dural CCN3* behind Shane Rose riding Holy Moses while Shane’s wife Niki won the REC Equine Specialists CCN2*-S riding Cooley All Over.
We’ll be back in the next few days with our full report and wrap up!
