After wet weather stopped played in July, Tamworth International Eventing (TIE) re-grouped and came back bigger and better!

The postponement was disappointing but, when Equestriad cancelled its September event, it was perfect timing for Tamworth to hop in, re-schedule and pick up the FEI classes that would have been held at Camden. So, this weekend’s scheduled Tamworth CCN at the Australian Equine and Livestock Centre (AELEC) is now both a CCI and CCN competition and the riders are there with bells on, with more than 450 competitors taking part.

28 combinations will be coming forward for the Pro Ten CCI4*-S and CCN4* with a bevy of NSW riders joined by Queensland’s Georgia Rohde, winner of the CCI3* here in March, and Victoria’s Yona Lloyd. Several are backing up from the recent CCN at Sydney Eventing Spring Classic for a CCI4* start here, including Hazel Shannon on Willingapark Clifford, Sam Woods on SS Eight Count, Shenae Lowings on Bold Venture and Oliver Barrett on Sandhills Briar and Sandhills Gem while Shane Rose is easing back into the season with Holy Moses in the CCN4*.

Judy Clarke is moving back up to CCN3* after her CCN2* win with Oaks Quasimodo at Sydney Eventing Spring Classic and she will have her friend and rival, Niki Rose, back in the mix on Dreamrush and Cooley All Over, the CCI2* winner here in March, while 13 combinations will be competing the Britt Grovenor Photography CCI3*-S. The 2* class is being run at CCN2* level (no CCI version) but it will also be hotly contested with 36 combinations in the Ash Morton Creative CCN2*.

The 3* and 4* competitors do dressage and show jump on Saturday, as do the EvA80 and EvA50 sections with those classes heading out on cross country on Sunday, while the EvA95 and EvA65 classes will go cross country on Saturday afternoon.

It will be a busy weekend at the purpose-built facility at AELEC and of course we’ll be there capturing all horses and riders on cross country and bringing you daily reports on the website. Plus keep an eye on our social pages for updates throughout!
