Emma Bishop and CP Issey Miyake

Emma Bishop’s mare CP Issey Miyake has been on very good form in the lead up to the 2019 Australian International 3 Day Event and today they continued it with a score of 30.30, putting them in the lead of the CCI5* after the dressage phase

“I was really happy with her” said Emma, who was the first rider into the dressage arena straight after the lunch break “We didn’t quite nail everything, but she was really relaxed and a lot more rideable than she was last year”

       Hazel Shannon and Willingapark Clifford

It is tight at the top however with the defending champion Hazel Shannon and Willingapark Clifford storming into second place towards the end of the day, with the thoroughbred ex-racehorse producing some really high quality trot work to score 30.70

Despite having won here twice before, this is the first time that the pair have been in the top three at the end of the first phase and Hazel was thrilled with the work that Clifford produced

“We’ve been working on this for years and years” she says, of the groundwork that she and her coach Heath Ryan have put in

Lauren Browne and Skys Da Limit

Another thoroughbred proved his prowess in this phase with Lauren Browne’s Skys Da Limit finishing on a score of 31 for third place at his second CCI5* start here

“He was a really good boy out there” said Lauren after her test “He was a bit tense when we first went into the arena but he settled in there”
