Langwarrin Pony Club Horse Trials Grade 3

      Linda Williams and Summer

An Eventful Life is filming all competitors on cross country at

Langwarrin Pony Club Horse Trials - find out more here

Eventing in Australia in early February can be scorching hot but the Langwarrin Pony Club Horse Trials in Victoria were blessed with perfect weather – a cool cloudy morning and the sun coming out later in the day in time for presentations!

A true One Day Event, everything took place on Sunday 10th February at the Langwarrin Equestrian Grounds which, despite being slowly encroached on by the surrounding suburbs of South East Melbourne, offers great facilities for the Pony Club. Large sand arenas are used for the dressage and show jumping and the cross country course winds through the sandy soil grounds, providing flat open areas and some bushland for fun

Loving the water jump decorations (above) and Wheeeee! Kylie Pedder and Belcam Aladdin (below)

The water jump is well constructed and beautifully decorated with fishing birds, providing plenty for the horses to look at. Some, such as the experienced Kylie Pedder on Belcam Aladdin, opted for a paddle before presenting to the actual jump but Kylie needn’t have worried - the lovely big grey launched in to the water without a care!

They finished third in the Open Grade 3, on the same score of 31 as second placed Bec Savage riding Contando Stars, who led after the dressage but added 12 penalties in the show jumping to lose the overall win to Linda Williams and Summer.

Like Kylie, Linda competes at higher levels, and the mare Summer may well be one that heads up the grades. They started in third place after the dressage with a score of 21 and added just four faults in the show jumping to win on a total score of 25

Linda told us more about the mare that is just re-starting her competition career after a few years busy with other things ........

      Jasmin Walters and Warrenwood Signature

In the Pony Club Grade 3, it was Jasmin Walters and Warrenwood Signature that finished at the top of the leader board, winning on their dressage score of 35. 'Pocket rocket' Warrenwood Signature may be 17 years old but certainly didn’t look it as they handled the cross country course with stylish ease

More to come from Grade 4 and 5 competitions soon ......

The rug is a teensy bit big for little Warrenwood Signature (above) and, no rug but ribbons for other Grade 3 competitors
