Adelaide Hill injured

Eventing is such a tough sport and it seems that Australia’s Christine Bates has once again been dealt a blow with the following announcement by Equestrian Australia

“High Performance squad member Christine Bates has advised Equestrian Australia (EA) that her horse Adelaide Hill has sustained an injury and

At this time Bates feels it is not in Adelaide’s best interest to fly to the UK on the 4 May as previously planned as the injury could prevent Adelaide from continuing his campaign towards Rio.

Adelaide has commenced treatment with the Equine Motion Institute, a specialist rehabilitation facility based in Holland.  They have travelled to Australia and have begun a treatment program.  This treatment is being supervised by Agnes Banks Equine Clinic.

A realistic assessment of this treatment program will be done in two weeks time.  At that time an appropriate decision will be made for Adelaide’s welfare and future.

Bates has advised relevant members of EA’s High Performance Program of the current situation.

Christine wishes to advise everyone who has generously donated to the Christine Bates Campaign Rio fundraising efforts that you will be contacted directly once a final decision has been made”

We wish Adelaide Hill all the best for a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing the Bates Equestrian team out and about competing soon
