Shane Rose took home two wins from the Ariat Sydney International 3 Day Event on Sunday with his Tokyo horse Virgil winning the ENSW CCI4*-S on a score of 40.20 ahead of Jess Rae, who produced a beautiful clear round on Fifth Avenue (42.30), and Victorian rider Sam Jeffree in third place (44.70) on Woodmount Loilita

Shane also won the Bates Saddles CCI4*-L on board a new ride, the Tinney’s Be My Daisy, with a clear round to finish on 44.30 while last year's winner and another of the Bimbadeen team, Sam Woods and Cage Fighter had to settle for second place (55.80). Gordon Bishop riding Advantage Hill took third place on the winners’ podium (66.0) which was awash with champagne spray for much of the day

Gordon’s wife Emma Bishop led the CEVA CCI3*-S riding the homebred Cassilis Park Figaro from go to whoa and Shenae Lowings riding Dotti won the Kohnke’s Own CCI3*-L, impressively adding just 0.8 penalties to their dressage score throughout the three phases

The Bowral Kubota CCI2*-S was won by Jess Somerfield on HB Zara while Sam Jeffree won the 4CYTE CCI2*-L on board Santoro as well as taking second place on Wimborne Conjuror

Our full reports, including interviews with all the winners, coming up this week and you can find International and National classes results here
