EOI from Australia for WEG 2022

Could the Australian team be marching on home soil in 2022?

Equestrian Australia has expressed interest in hosting the 2022 FEI World Equestrian Games

Equestrian Australia (EA) has submitted to the FEI a non-binding Expression of Interest (EOI) in relation to hosting the 2022 FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG).

By submitting a non-binding EOI, EA will be provided with the Official FEI Bid Documentation, enabling them to further explore the feasibility of Australia successfully bidding for and hosting the 2022 WEG. At this point in time, Adelaide and South East Queensland are being considered as possible host locations.

As this is the first phase of the FEI process, there is no obligation for Australia to proceed with a formal bid and Equestrian Australia has said that ‘Further analysis and deliberation is required before any decisions are made’

In 2000 Australia hosted one of the most successful Olympic Games of recent times with all equestrian activities taking place at the specially built Sydney International Equestrian Centre at Horsley Park

The next World Equestrian Games are to be held in Bromont, Canada in 2018
