Top British equestrian photographer Peter Nixon claimed the prestigious “Silver Camera” award presented during the FEI World Championships Aachen 2026.
The Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein (ALRV) traditionally awards the “Silver Camera” for the best international equestrian sports photo of the year, with approximately 130 photographs submitted this year.
This year’s panel of judges consisted of the German dressage rider, Frederic Wandres, last year’s winner, Andreas Steindl, and Andreas Müller, Managing Director of Mediahuis Aachen GmbH.
“It wasn’t an easy task. But as a jury, we worked together to choose a fantastic winning photo – and the entries that took second and third place are very special, too,” said Frederic Wandres.
However, the jury was particularly impressed by the photo submitted by Peter Nixon; with his photo capturing an extraordinary moment during the cross-country phase of an eventing competition. Thanks to the perfect interplay between subject, perspective and technical execution, the photograph stood out among the many submissions.
In addition to the “Silver Camera” honorary award, Peter Nixon also received prize money to the value of 2,500 Euros. The runner-up, Madeleine Delp Bergsjø, wins 1,000 Euros in prize money, while third place (500 Euros) was awarded to Arnd Bronkhorst.
