Shane Rose jumps up 2016 FEI Classics Leaderboard

Shane Rose and CP Qualified CCI4* winners in Adelaide

Following his win in the CCI4* at the Australian International 3 Day Event Shane Rose has jumped into second place on the 2016 FEI Classics™ Series leader board

Shane is on equal points (15) with Astier Nicolas of France who won the CCI4* at Les Etoiles de Pau but Astier’s lower winning score means that Shane is in second place. Although Shane also placed second in Adelaide, this placing does not count as the rider can only earn points with their best single performance at each event (bad luck Shane!)

Michael Jung is in third place on 12 points while New Zealand’s Tim Price and Clarke Johnstone (third in Adelaide) are in fourth and fifth place, but again with the same points (10). Young Emily King is in sixth place after a fabulous 4* debut and another 4*first timer, Australia’s Michaela Martindale is in 9th place on the FEI Classics standings after her fifth place in Adelaide

Other Australians in the top 16 of the FEI Classics after their success at the Australian International 3 Day Event are Sonja Johnson in seventh place (8 points), Katja Weimann 11th (5 points), Hazel Shannon 12th (4 points) and Isabel English 14th (3 points)

With Shane Rose hoping to also compete at Burghley this year (listen to our interview here), this is a great start to his 2016 FEI Classics season
